This piece was designed with stairways in mind. While the Helix is suitable wherever indirect lighting is desired, it is especially appropriate in situations where glare is a problem. It can be created with the slant going in either direction, depending on your needs.
This piece is created from thin veneers that are sliced from one piece of wood and put together consecutively. This design technique is an excellent way to show off highly figured wood. A pattern in the wood will be repeated with slight variations in each strip, with the accent wood breaking up the progression.
