The Flame Vase

Product notes: This unique, sculptural vase with hand hammered brass insert can hold delicate arrangements of dried grasses, or single buds with a small amount of water. The insert is specially made for this product by local metalsmith, Stephen Brisken. The wood body of the vase is actually turned, to give it its delicate shape. The assembly of the piece uses traditional techniques of classical acoustic guitar building.
Personal Notes: This piece came about when I was trying to come up with a unique and special gift for my girlfriend when she graduated from Humboldt State University. Another of the first vases I created belongs to my mother in England.
